Vision- To be a Premier Institute of Excellence in the country for capacity building of public sector officials to strengthen public service delivery and good governance towards sustainable development
- To build up the capacity of all public sector officials, working from cutting edge levels to senior levels based on organsational training needs
- To conduct research on development issues and training
- To update and enhance professional knowledge and skills of the institution for better performance of individuals and organization
- To bring about right attitudinal orientation, culture of dedication as well as ethical values for betterment of society
- To ensure evaluation of trainees, trainers, and impact of training
- To take e-Governance initiatives and capacity building for e-Governance
- To give a powerful system of work force approaches and techniques to create the comprehensive network of world class roads and highways infrastructure in India.
- Training for All: Decentralization of training through Regional Training Centres and reaching the target group at the grass-root level.
- To plan, design and conduct foundational, functional refresher and specialised training programmes for different grades of govt, officials, so as to enable them to perform their duties more effectively and shoulder greater responsibilities in the future, by increasing their professional competence.
- To assist Departments and organisation to assess the training needs at various levels and assist them in designing their training courses and training materials and organise training programmes to meet these needs as per their requirement.
- To produce monographs and other training literature/ material, (including audio-visual aids) relevant to the training courses designed and conducted by the Institute.
- To improve e-governance and e-learning skills.
- To arrange training programmes as required by the various departments of the State and Government of India.
